Letting Your Gite

Gite owners have two basic choices when it comes to marketing and letting their properties: they can either organise it all themselves or they can associate themselves with an organisation who handles all or part of the process on their behalf.  Make no mistake, this aspect of owning a gite in France takes very different skills to those used in its renovation and preparation, and as always The Gite Doctor has experts in that particular field available to help.

BF House with drop shadowVarious companies offer letting advice and the facility to advertise your property with an appropriate write-up and photographs.  Gone are the days when there were cut-off days for placing your advertising because a catalogue was being printed - now the vast bulk of letting is all carried over the internet.  Also, the letting sites offer much more space than they used to, allowing owners to show off their property to its best potential.

Achieving a fully managed letting service

A 'fully managed letting service' generally means that a letting agency will photograph, describe, advertise and deal with the enquiries for your gite ... but the owner is still responsible for arranging local care-taking and overall property management.

However, if your property falls within an existing LBV property management area then an owner can achieve a fully managed letting service which does actually include property management along with the advertising of the property (including the taking of booking enquiries and payments!)  As of autumn of 2014 Les Bons Voisins are proud to announce a connection with the website 'Love To Escape' on which their clients can advertise their 'to let' properties at hugely advantageous prices.  Not only that, but every client's Love to Escape booking/payment facility can be accessed from their advertising on other online locations!

In this arrangement, the LBV property manager organises everything on a client's behalf: marketing, enquiries, bookings, rental payments and all paperwork and administration - including payments being made directly to a client's French or UK bank via the Love to Escape site. This allows owners to let property with minimal effort.

Want more control over the letting process?  No problem!

Alternatively, property owners who prefer to control their own lettings and bookings can take advantage of Love To Escape's own powerful site promotion at special discounts via LBV. This service provides a straightforward method of marketing a 'to let' property whilst enjoying the benefits of working with a leading holiday letting company.

Owners can showcase a property on 'Love To Escape' using flexible listings, photos, customisable rental rates and availability calendars. Property pages are easy to manage, allowing owners to keep on top of email enquiries, update their listings and set up time-sensitive special offers.

"We are so pleased to announce our partnership with the website 'Love to Escape' where our clients can rest assured that the organisation of their holiday lettings is in safe hands" says Sally Stone, founder of the LBV Group in 2002.

"The 'Love to Escape' website is optimised for all Smart Phones and Mobile Devices.  Potential guests can find and book their ideal holiday cottage/home/villa, B&B, guesthouse, hotel or campsite even when they're on the move."

G BF- man

Gavin Mitchell, joint owner of Love to Escape, explains why his site is so successful:

"We enjoy relationships with many of our property owners going back years. We know how much pleasure they get from talking to their guests and sharing the enthusiasm and pride they have for their homes. What's more, they find their guests come back year after year for the same reason."
